  1. I suppose that Bradbury chose the title for a chapter " The Hearth and The Salamander" because it was foreshadowing the conflict that would occur throughout the novel. The connection that he wanted to create was a dominant image of the life of Montage.
  2.  Some assumptions that the reader can make after reading the lines " It was a pleasure to burn. It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changing" would be by telling the readers that the Guy Montage (protagonist) was happy that the books could vanish into thin air and how the books can easily be gone.
  3. I think he had chosen to characterize a fire hose as a " Great Python" because the fire hose had been chosen to eliminate books. This imagery can be positive if you are referring it to Montage because he was happy to be eliminating books that they really didn't need in the world.
  4. The symbolic importance of the number 451 that was inscribed in Montage's  fire helmet is the temperature at which paper burns.
  5. The way that Clarisse McClellan was first described as was that when Montage meets her he instantly becomes aware that she is different from other people in his community. This strikes Montage because she is more different than other people he had met because she is so open minded like when communicating towards her family and also to nature.
  6. The names "Clarisse" and "Guy " are significant because it shows difference ways on how they are living the way they are today.
  7. Clarisse questions Montage in a serious way and the way that  Montage reacts to it was confused because he didn't acknowledge if he was happy or not.

  16. This statement " I don't anything anymore" signifies a pivotal moment in the text because he started to be thinking and open minded with his thoughts.
  17. The reason why Bradbury describe her this way is because she won't have feelings about depression and tries to make her think this world of reality is fine. The conversation between Mildred and Montag reveals about Mildred that she isn't really thinking  straight because she isn't open minded of her actions.
  18. The reason why Clarisse visit the psychiatrist is because she is different from other people because she like nature and isn't that really into technology that people use and also because she acts different which makes them believe that she is crazy.
  19. The hound is where mechanical Hound which they built machines or robots and the reason why Montage is bothered by the Hound is because they don't like him.
  20. The purpose why the old woman wanted to stay, burn and die with her books rather than surrendering is because she wanted to live a life for books because it makes her happy and the way of her thinking and open minded.
